Wooden crates for safe shipping and storage

We make wooden crates to your product's dimensions and weight — from small boxes for parts to large export crates for machinery. Closed or slatted, from solid boards or plywood, with internal bracing and ISPM 15 heat treatment when the cargo travels outside the EU.

Tell us the size, quantity and delivery country — we will send a quote within 1–2 working days.

What matters

A good crate is designed around the product: wall thickness, fastening and treatment depend on what is inside and where it is going.

Protection from impact and moisture

Wall thickness, internal bracing and cushioning inserts are chosen to suit the cargo's fragility, weight and journey time.

Sized to the product

Internal dimensions, clearances and lid type — from your drawing or the product dimensions you send us.

Closed or slatted

Closed crates keep out dust and moisture; slatted crates are lighter, cheaper and let the cargo be inspected without removing a wall.

TypeBest forFeatures
Closed board cratesMechanical parts, equipment, spare partsContinuous walls, a sturdy frame and a pallet-style base for forklift handling.
Plywood boxesElectronics, instruments, consumer goodsLighter, with smooth walls for labelling and a smaller shipping volume.
Slatted cratesHeavy, bulky goods that need to be inspectedGaps between the boards cut weight and cost; the cargo is braced inside.
Returnable cratesSupply loops between plants, seasonal equipmentScrew-fastened walls or lid — the crate can be opened and reassembled repeatedly.
Machinery crates with a baseMachine tools, motors, industrial equipmentA reinforced base with skids; the load is bolted or blocked to the base.
Non-standard cratesLong, fragile or irregularly shaped cargoDesigned around the cargo and made from a single unit upwards.

How it works

From dimensions to a finished crate

Send us the product's dimensions, weight and, if you have one, a drawing or photo. We will choose the construction, quote a price and lead time, build the crates and deliver them or prepare them for pickup. A standard-size crate can also be configured in the 3D configurator.

Frequently asked questions

01
Are the crates suitable for export outside the EU?

Yes. Export crates are heat-treated and IPPC-marked to ISPM 15, so they are accepted in every country that applies the standard. Plywood and other processed wood panels are exempt from ISPM 15, which often simplifies export.

02
Plywood or solid boards — which should I choose?

Plywood is lighter, with smooth, tight walls, so it suits electronics, instruments and goods that need protecting from dust. Solid boards are stronger and cheaper for large, heavy crates. The two are often combined: a board frame and base with plywood walls.

03
Can you make just one crate?

Yes. We make crates from a single unit — for one machine shipment or a trade-show exhibit, for example. For larger batches and regular supply the price per crate falls.

04
What information should the enquiry include?

The product's dimensions and weight, whether it is fragile, how it will travel (truck, container, air), the destination country and the quantity. A drawing or photo helps a lot but is not essential — we can design the construction from a description.

05
Can the crates be reused?

Yes, if it is planned from the start. For returnable crates we screw-fasten the walls or lid rather than nail them and choose thicker timber so the crate survives several cycles. Single-trip crates are optimised for cost instead.

06
How is the cargo secured inside the crate?

According to the cargo's shape and weight: with wooden blocks and wedges, support beams, bolts through the base or straps. The aim is that the cargo does not move inside the crate and its weight rests on the base rather than the walls.

Need transport packaging built around your cargo?

Send us the dimensions, a drawing or a photo of the cargo. We will review your requirements and get back to you with a price and a production lead time.
