Export pallets and crates heat-treated and marked to ISPM 15

We make wooden pallets, crates and packaging for cargo leaving the EU — to Norway, the United Kingdom and every other country that applies ISPM 15 — and heat-treat them in our own plant. Each item carries the IPPC mark with the country code LT, our registration number and the treatment code HT, so the shipment clears plant-health checks without delay.

Tell us the size, quantity and delivery country — we will send a quote within 1–2 working days.

What matters

Outside the EU, wooden packaging must be treated and marked — otherwise the shipment can be held at the border.

Heat treatment (HT)

The wood is heated until its core holds at least 56 °C for at least 30 minutes — the ISPM 15 requirement for killing wood pests.

The IPPC mark

The mark shows the IPPC symbol, the country code LT, the producer’s registration number and the treatment code HT. We apply it where it is clearly visible, on at least two opposite sides.

For Norway and other non-EU countries

Norway is not in the EU. Its food safety authority, Mattilsynet, requires the wooden packaging in every import shipment, used EUR pallets included, to be treated and marked to ISPM 15.

Frequently asked questions

01
Do pallets shipped from Lithuania to Norway need ISPM 15?

Yes. Norway is not in the EU, and Mattilsynet requires the wooden packaging in all import shipments to be treated and marked to ISPM 15 — including shipments from EU countries and used EUR pallets. Unmarked packaging can get a shipment held and add costs.

02
Is ISPM 15 needed within the EU?

Generally not — wooden packaging moving within the EU does not have to be treated. If the cargo will later leave the EU, or your customer asks for it, we make treated and marked packaging from the start.

03
What does the mark on the pallet mean?

The IPPC symbol shows the item complies with ISPM 15. LT is the country code, followed by the producer’s or treatment provider’s registration number issued by the Lithuanian State Plant Service, and HT stands for heat treatment.

04
Do plywood crates need ISPM 15?

No. ISPM 15 does not apply to plywood, OSB and other processed wood panels, because heat, glue and pressure already treat the wood during manufacture. Any solid-wood parts of the crate, such as the base skids, are treated and marked.
